The Research Commission of the Academic Council of Avignon University has decided, within the framework of the 2018-2022 establishment contract, to launch a call for recurrent research projects supporting scientific activity.

This call for projects is intended to support preliminary research likely to contribute to the emergence of structuring, scientifically ambitious projects with a high potential for international influence. It also aims to strengthen interdisciplinary collaborations within the institution and/or international collaborations.

These projects should help research teams to prepare responses to major national, European or international calls for projects.

Each project must fall into one of the following categories, which may or may not correspond to the institution's priority themes:

  • Agro&Sciences
  • Culture, Heritage, Digital Societies (CPSN)
  • All themes - outside the institution's priority areas

For the Agro&Sciences and NHPC categories, obtaining Tersys or Agorantic funding for the same project is not an obstacle to obtaining Research Commission funding as long as the latter does not cover the same activities.

The deadline for the submission of 2023 projects is 26 January 2023. Completed form to be returned to : aap-recherche@univ-avignon.fr

In order to contribute to the scientific and technological influence of the research structures it recognises, the institution supports the organisation of scientific conferences and events.

There are two sessions of this call for proposals in 2023. The deadline for events taking place before the summer of 2023 is 26 January 2023. The deadline for events taking place in summer and autumn/winter is 2 May 2023. Completed form to be returned to : aap-recherche@univ-avignon.fr

This programme is aimed at researchers who plan to submit an article or a response to a call for proposals in a foreign language and who need linguistic support for the drafting of their submission document. This support will be provided by a specialist in the target language who will correct the document with one of its authors.

The programme should significantly increase the chances of success of the project, or acceptance of the article. In addition, this support should lead researchers to improve their command of the target language.

Applications will be processed by the Research Committee of the Academic Council on a rolling basis, at its monthly meetings.

Research mobilises infrastructures and instruments which may require heavy investments, and which must meet the strategic objectives of Avignon University (AU). These investments can be multiannual and should be included in the multiannual research investment programme of the institution. This call for projects invites the research units under the supervision of AU to formulate their investment needs and to contextualise them with regard to :

  • The unit's scientific project,
  • The institution's scientific project,
  • The capacity of the unit to host these instruments (technical and human environment)
  • Resources to be mobilised to ensure a good return on investment
  • The potential for mutualisation with other research units of the institution if relevant

Applications will be processed by the Research Committee of the Academic Council on a rolling basis, at its monthly meetings.

The medium- and long-term research programmes developed in research laboratories may be implemented through a series of collaborative projects of varying nature and duration. The diversity of these projects, their funding methods and their timetables limit the ability of scientific leaders to structure and plan all the research activities linked to the programme.

Avignon University wishes to offer the institution's teacher-researchers a framework that allows them to group together a set of projects in a multi-year research operation, built around a coherent scientific programme that can be fed by several contractualised collaborations.

Applications will be processed by the Research Committee of the Academic Council on a rolling basis, at its monthly meetings.

The dissemination of scientific culture is one of the essential missions and one of the priority projects of Avignon University. This programme aims to support researchers, teacher-researchers and technical staff of the institution who wish to contribute to the dissemination of scientific culture. The programme should allow the financing of projects carried out by the institution or participation in actions in which the institution is a partner.

Applications will be processed by the Research Committee of the Academic Council on a rolling basis, at its monthly meetings.

The Short Term Visitor Programme aims to support the hosting of research teachers or PhD researchers from France or abroad for short periods of time, approximately one week.

Applications will be processed by the Research Committee of the Academic Council on a rolling basis, at its monthly meetings.

The Outgoing Researcher Mobility programme aims to support the international mobility of professors and researchers from Avignon University laboratories to foreign institutions, in order to boost the institution's international research policy.

Applications will be processed by the Research Committee of the Academic Council on a rolling basis, at its monthly meetings.

The Inward Mobility-Guest Researcher programme aims to support the hosting of foreign professors or researchers in the laboratories of Avignon University for a period of 15 days to 2 months, in order to boost the institution's international research policy.

Applications will be processed by the Research Committee of the Academic Council on a rolling basis, at its monthly meetings.

Avignon University supports invitations to foreign researchers and teacher-researchers of international standing for a period of eight to twelve months. This programme aims to develop sustainable and productive international collaborations in the priority areas of the institution's scientific project.

Applications will be processed by the Research Committee of the Academic Council on a rolling basis, at its monthly meetings.
