Publics and Museums (1992-2000)

At the origin of Culture & Museumsthe creation of the magazine Audiences & Museums in 1992 by Jean Davallon and Hana Gottesdiener aimed to offer the community of researchers and practitioners a French-speaking medium for the dissemination of research in museology. Audiences & Museums has published eighteen issues in almost ten years.

The team then decided to extend its concerns to other areas of culture: heritage, tourism, literature, cinema, arts, sciences, history, cultural practices, etc. Thus, in 2003, Audiences & Museums has become Culture & Museums.
