Ministry of Foreign Affairs internships

The Ministry of Europe and Foreign Affairs offers internships as part of a course of study to students of all disciplines:

  • in France: at the Ministry's central administration (Paris or Nantes) 
  • abroad: at a diplomatic mission or consulate.

  • To apply, you must complete and send the application form for a student internship at the Ministry to the SRI (sri@univ-avignon.fr), with a copy to your course director. The SRI is the establishment correspondent of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs at the University of Avignon.
Internships in Europe and beyond

General
The Newsletter of the Club Teli contains a multitude of regularly updated internship offers. You can consult it at the International Relations Department, or visit their website.

The Centre Régional d'Information de la Jeunesse Provence-Alpes (CRIJPA) located in Marseille is an information resource centre in all areas of life. It has published the Guide de la mobilité des jeunes en Europe (Guide to youth mobility in Europe) which you can consult at the Service des Relations Internationales of the University of Avignon.

The Youth Information and Documentation Centre (CIDJ) is an association that welcomes and informs young people on all areas that concern them: initiatives and projects, studies, jobs, work-linked training, orientation, employment, continuing education, work placements, summer jobs, language stays, grants, student accommodation, international mobility, etc.

Europe
The site Euroguidance France is a mine of information on internships in Europe (legal framework of the internship depending on the country, employment situation in the country, tips for finding an internship, advice on writing CVs and cover letters etc.).

Placement UK offers internships in the UK (free service for students).

If you are looking for an internship in the Netherlands, you can contact the French-Dutch network in Utrecht. It aims to strengthen cooperation and good relations between higher education and research institutions in both countries.

Canada
The Association France-Québec has set up various internship and exchange programmes in Quebec.

The Office franco-québécois pour la Jeunesse (OFQJ) offers internships and supports professional projects in Quebec for French people (and vice versa) aged 18 to 35.

Volunteering

There are several types of international volunteering.

International Voluntary Service IVS :
- France Volontaires informs and guides candidates for international volunteering towards the different associations. More information on the website: France Volontaires.

- Regional associations APARE and GEC offers work camps for young people in the fields of heritage and environment on both sides of the Mediterranean.

Certain types of voluntary work can sometimes be validated as internships. Ask your UFR for more information.

The European Voluntary Service EVS :
EVS (European Voluntary Service) is a voluntary experience of 2 to 12 months in a structure in another country (association, NGO, local authority, public non-profit institution or organisation).

The International Corporate Volunteer (VIE) :
The VIE (volontariat international en entreprise) carries out its mission within a French company abroad. He/she occupies a commercial, technical or scientific job, etc.

International Volunteering in Administration (VIA):
The VIA (volontariat international en administration) is intended for young people between 18 and 28 years old who wish to work for the State services abroad (consulate, embassy, French alliance, institute...). For more information, you can consult the website My International Volunteering.

The Forum of Foreign Cultural Institutes in Paris (FICEP), created in 2002 on the initiative of the Canadian Cultural Centre, brings together 38 cultural centres and institutes and 4 associated partners. In the "Institutes" section, you have access to a multitude of cultural centres from A (like Algeria) to Y (like Yemen).

The Declic Youth Scholarships of the Fondation de France Each year, the competition encourages young people between the ages of 18 and 30 to pursue work, research or a project that will enable them to fulfil their vocation in a wide range of fields. Participation in the competition is free.

Young graduates: do you know the FAJE programme?

FAJE programme: support for the professional integration of young graduates

In the current economic context and faced with the demands of companies, it is necessary to increase the international mobility of young students and graduates. Aware of this challenge, the PACA Region allocates, each year, numerous mobility grants.

The objective of the FAJE programme is to provide job seekers from Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur or abroad with an assignment of several months in a company, after a preliminary training of eight to twelve weeks. It concerns young people under 30 years of age and holders of a minimum of a baccalaureate + 3 years or under 25 years of age and holders of a baccalaureate + 2 years.
